In collaboration with Sidreh and Bedouin without Borders, we have been working to digitize fragile cultural heritage of Bedouin communities throughout Palestine. What does it mean to bring this cultural heritage into the metaverse, then, if it’s disappearing in the ‘real’ world? and how can we possibly preserve cultural practices, including oral histories, rituals, ceremonies, arts and crafts, which are becoming obsolete within a modern-colonial context?
